Another Battle Cry adaptation, this time the Alma during the Crimean War. I setup a deployment based on Neil Thomas 19th Century Wargaming book where the battle is detailed, focusing on the British section of the battlefield.
The British had a difficult task in having to obtain six victory medals including the capture of the redoubts in the centre of the Russian line. The Russian artillery was devastating and halted the British advance sufficiently to prevent the use of the favourable house rules I'd devised to represent rifled muskets, elite units and steadfast morale.
Overall it seemed a touch biased to the Russians so I've modified the rules and setup to hopefully inject a better balance. Overall another period that adapts well to the Battle Cry treatment. I did use the Napoleonic Command & Colours board, tiles, dice and command cards but the game was run with the Battle Cry rules incorporating my period modifications.
