I've been designing a set of rules to simulate marine boarding actions and small scale skirmishes within complexes or space stations. I decided to modify the excellent Space Hulk Rules and combine an activation system and some additional refinements and action options using the base mechanics.
With my collection of Space Crusade figures I can pit squads against each other using the Space Hulk tiles and Space Crusade game boards. I've created a set of counters and Squad Summary Cards to track individual Marines so that it looks and feels like a unique Board Game.
I had a playtest and it was quite exciting providing some valuable learnings. I didn't have to modify much and I seem to have a nice balance between playability and complexity.
I plan to haul out my 15mm Traveller figures when I can find them in my garage and use them with these rules on my Snapshot deckplans.
Space Cat got into the act as usual!
