Battle Cry: Blenheim 1704

Here is the adaptation of a Frederick's War scenario on vassal which details the dispositions for the Battle of Blenheim. It allowed me to set out my mounted Risk 18th Century figures to represent the four participating armies of the British-Austrian coalition and the Franco-Bavarian Army.

I adapted my core Battle Cry rules with a few period variants, the most significant was simulating Platoon Fire with the ability of the any British infantry unit to re-roll one miss. This did give their infantry an edge which I felt reflected reality nicely. Their cavalry were also classed as Elite which meant they could ignore one flag. This was to reflect their training to charge and dispense with firepower tactics.

A concerted assault across the bridges and French collapse mirrored the historical outcome.

Battle Cry: Freeman's Farm

Here is my take two of this scenario for C&C that I've adapted to my Battle Cry house rules for the AWI. I recently got a Risk 2004 Edition which contained six sets of figures with an 18th century look. I mounted these for use in period conflicts to go alongside my 19th century figures - again from the Risk boardgame. I think they look rather good.

The plan is I use these in my 18th Battle Cry period variants and also when playing Hold the Line and Fredreick's War games where I can combine the counters with miniatures to get a more 3D representation.
