Memoir'44: Breakout to Lisyanka - February 1944

This looked like an exciting setup for a tense Eastern Front confrontation. I was playing the Soviets and hampered by the Commissar rule, which does limit possibilities considerably. In contrast my German AI opponent had a lot of flexibility.
A good start with an armour assault allowing the Axis forces to move the elite panzers up. They did start to get bogged down by a spirited Russian defense which held them up and allowed my armour to perform an effective counterattack.

The tank units were pretty concentrated in some sectors of the map!

Things were going fine until an unwelcome intervention from the cat effectively terminated the game.

  1. A cat-astrophe! Brian, I have read you take on the NT ACW rules and like your amendments very much. I have a couple of questions actually, now that I am spending a bit more time away from the casting shed and trying some actual wargaming. My address is peter@spencersmithminiatures.co.uk, but I fully understand if you didn’t want to enter a dialogue!
